THE KEY IDEA

Ask for the full mascara packaging configuration. Review the sample with the formula and filling requirements in view, alongside the appearance direction.

Write the application brief

Describe the intended mascara product and the application experience you want to discuss. Include the target fill, preferred overall dimensions and any reference for the applicator or handling. If a detail is undecided, mark it as an open question.

Tell your supplier which features of a reference are important. A photograph can describe a design direction, but it cannot confirm a brush, wiper, component material or functional result.

Request the exact component configuration

Ask what is included in the proposed model and quotation. Review the tube, closure and any applicator-related components with the supplier, rather than treating the outer shape as a complete specification.

Where a brush, wand or wiper is relevant, request the available details for that configuration. Ask which questions need an assembled sample and which need input from the formulation or filling partner.

  • Model code and sample revision.
  • Target fill and relevant dimensions.
  • Applicator-related components to confirm.
  • Filling and assembly requirements.
  • Color, artwork and finish by component.

Plan the product evaluation separately

Keep appearance approval separate from functional and compatibility review. Agree which parties will assess the filled pack, the exact configuration under review and the evidence required before a decision.

Aptar describes functionality and compatibility testing as specific beauty laboratory services. Use those distinct subjects to organize your questions; do not infer a test result from an attractive catalogue presentation.

Record the decision and the next stage

Attach feedback to the model, sample and artwork revision. Identify which details are accepted and which need a revised sample or further information. Keep unresolved questions visible in the approval record.

When the configuration is clear, confirm quantity, MOQ, quotation scope and timing for that version. A change in applicator, component or decoration should be checked against the earlier sample and quotation.

Product specifications, available configurations and approval steps must be confirmed for your selected MCPA model.
